International Conference on Stochastic Programming 2016

The XIV International Conference on Stochastic Programming will take place in the city of Buzios, 160km from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from June 25 to July 1, 2016. Please visit the web page for more information.
Stochastic Programming is a field that encompasses certain classes of optimization problems under uncertainty, providing sound methodology to solve planning problems in many areas such as finance, energy, transportation and the service sector, among others.

The conference aims to bring together the leading researchers in Stochastic Programming as well as academic colleagues from neighbor scientific areas, practitioners in the industrial and institutional sectors, doctoral students to share recent theoretical and applied results and push forward the state-of-the-art in this field.

A two-day introductory series of Tutorials held during the weekend precedes the main conference to provide sufficient background in Stochastic Programming. The conference is developed over the next five week days with parallel sections, plenary talks from recognized leading researchers in stochastic optimization and a set of mini symposia, featuring recent contributions on state-of-the-art topics.

The 2016 conference will be the first one held in South America and will be jointly organized by Brazil and Chile. It is the 14th edition in a series which started in Oxford, England in 1974; and continued in Koszeg, Hungary, 1981; Laxenburg, Austria, 1983; Prague, Czechoslovakia, 1986; Ann Arbor, USA 1989; Udine, Italy, 1992; Nahariya, Israel, 1995; Vancouver, Canada, 1998; Berlin, Germany, 2001; Tucson, USA, 2004; Vienna, Austria, 2007; Halifax, Canada, 2010; Bergamo, Italy, 2013.

The ICSP is the principal event of the Stochastic Programming Society (SPS), a technical section of the Mathematical Optimization Society that brings together researchers who work on decisions under uncertainty. See http://www.stoprog.org for more information.

Optimization under Uncertainty in Sustainable Agriculture and Agrifood Industry

Workshop on Optimization under Uncertainty in Sustainable Agriculture and Agrifood Industry (www.orafm.org/workshop2015) July 27-29, 2015 Lleida, Spain.

The purpose of the Workshop is to bring together researchers in the area of optimization under uncertainty and specific areas of application like Sustainable Supply Chains, Agriculture and Agrifood Industry.

The Workshop is co-organised and supported by the EURO Working Group on Operations Research in Agriculture and Forest Management (EWGORAFM), the EURO working Group on Stochastic Programming (EWGSP), and the EURO Working Group on Sustainable Supply Chains (EWGSSC).

Members of the Working Groups are expected to participate and to encourage the participation of other professionals interested in these topics, so that further collaboration can be promoted on a larger scale.
Proposals for panels or demo presentations in special sessions are very welcome.
We thank you in advance for your interest.

We look forward to seeing you in Lleida.
