Optimization techniques under uncertainty are important for many business and technological applications. The latter chalenges are often formulated and solved in a framework of stochastic programming. Stochastic programming is characterized by variety of powerfull methods and algorithms however many of that are not implemented and used in practice so widely as it is possible.
The scope of the Special Workshop of Stochastic Programming Community (STOPROG-2012) “Stochastic Programming for Implementation” is to overview trends towards latest challenges in stochastic programming and stochastic optimization linked to implementation and advanced applications.
An European Working Group in a field of stochastic programming, stochastic optimization and stochastic control within the European Association of OR Societies (EURO) is also intended to create during STOPROG-2012.
